Applicos releases PXI Dual Channel Power Supply

HEERDE, the Netherlands – September 25, 2013 – Applicos BV, a developer and manufacturer of mixed-signal test solutions, this week announced a new Dual-channel Programmable Power Supply unit for the PXI platform.

The PS48402 unit can deliver 0-48V, 0-2A on its outputs, to a maximum of 80W per channel. Using only a single PXI slot, the unit provides a very cost- and space-effective solution for automatic test system integrators that need to offer high channel-density PXI solutions.

The PS48402 shares the low noise and good step response signals with its single channel equivalent, the PS48401, but also adds higher-power in a single slot form factor. To achieve this, an external AC/DC conversion box delivers the power from the mains voltage, without loading the PXI chassis power supply.

Other key features are the integration of a transient recorder that can read back the output voltage or current with 16-bit resolution, and the fact that the outputs are fully isolated from each other.

"With this product, we provide a very high-performance alternative to the PXI Power supply solutions that are already available on the market. This fits the design philosophy that Applicos has had for years with their semiconductor test background, and I hope that customers will appreciate that", said Johannes van der Vegt, PXI Sales Engineer at Applicos.

PXI is a standardized platform for compact modular measurement equipment. It is becoming more and more popular for its modularity and compact size.

Applicos has been in the PXI market for over 10 years now and is focusing on high signal integrity, flexibility and customer-specific solutions.
